Snapchat now has group video chatting and tagging

Snapchat is once again expanding its chatting functionality by implementing support for group video calls. Up to 32 people at once can participate in audio-only calls, where as 16 people can participate in video conversations at the same time.

16-person simultaneous group video call functionality will be distributed to users of the social photography app around the world starting this week, according to Snap Inc.'s blog post announcing the feature.

In addition to group video chatting, Small Snapchat iconSnapchat is also implementing a tagging system akin to the ones utilized by Small Facebook iconFacebook and Small Twitter iconTwitter. This means that simply typing the @ symbol followed directly by a person's username will notify that user of the message or story. Engadget notes that this feature will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks as well.
